"Microsoft Project for independent consultant"

Overall: If you need to keep track and record of your activities in a daily basis, this platform is a must have!

Pros: I found that this softwares allows me to set, control and track my own activities regarding to every single project

Cons: It´s some time hard to understand the process, but once you are into it you can get used to it

"Seguimiento tradicional pero firme"

Overall: Cambio mi forma de gestionar proyectos y sigue en el top de las herramientas de seguimiento y sin duda creo que seguira de esta manera.

Pros: Es una herramiento de uso comun dentro de los equipos de projecto por lo que es facil la lectura de informaciòn y su entendimiento por el equipo, coustomizando los dashboars te da una cantidad valiosa de datos para ajustes y tomas de decisión, el seguimiento firme con dato duro de porcentajes de avance es de suma importancia.

Cons: No cuenta con una versón movil colaborativa por la cantidad de informaciòn que se puede registrar y el nivel de detalles que se puede llegar en las tareas, asi que aunque pareciera un contra es algo logico pero cuenta con alternatia para trabajar en equipo desde tu lap.

Getting Started

I can't stress enough the fact that Microsoft Project is meant to be used by experienced, or more precisely trained, project managers. It's not designed for learning on the fly. It doesn't come with clear tutorials for getting started. It assumes familiarity with both big concepts and fine details of project management. If you're thinking you might use this software but you (or the lead person who will be using the app) don't know what a burndown report is, I would seriously advise you to consider a different tool.

The app itself looks a lot like Excel. It has the same familiar tabbed ribbon interface seen in other Microsoft Office apps. The spreadsheet portion of the app holds all the data related to tasks or resources. To the right of the cells is a Gantt chart reflecting the schedule as you build it.

Install was straightforward

I bought a more recent version of MS Project. Install was straightforward. I even tried both of the suggested methods and both work perfectly. Well thought out download process and competitive pricing. Highly recommended.
